Considerations and Knowledgebase | A Quick Overview
  • Vector vs. Raster Graphics: : Full Color: Also Known as CMYK or 4 Color Process. This method of printing utilizes 4 primary colors (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black) to achieve the entire color spectrum allowing for printing of real photos and graphics which require an extensive number of color sets. Spot Color: Individiual colors are utilized and are typcially identified using the Pantone© Color System. This method is used for raised printing (themography) and many other applications where individual color saturation is needed.

  • DPI and Resolution: A senario where the color extends all the way to the edge of either a printed piece or a digital file. Typical bleed tolerance for commercial printing is 1/8th inch beyond the cut line.

  • File Types/Extensions: Includes Binding, Scoring, Hemming & Grommets (Banners), Cutting, Coating, Curing, Assembling etc...

  • Online vs. Offline Graphics: Also Known as CMYK or 4 Color Process. This method of printing utilizes 4 primary colors (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black) to achieve the entire color spectrum allowing for printing of real photos
